Our History

David Adam Realty was founded in 1991 by David A. Waldman. Mr. Waldman expanded DAR’s market presence and industry knowledge through the 1990s, growing the business into a well trusted and well-known local specialist in the lower Fairfield County area. In 2000, looking to further expand the firm’s market position, Mr. Waldman engaged Sharon Maddern as Managing Director, Brokerage. With fifteen years of experience in consumer products and corporate sales, Ms. Maddern brought extensive knowledge of retail operations to the DAR team. With the addition of Ms. Maddern, the firm has evolved into one of the leading boutique brokerage firms in Fairfield County. John Greenspan joined DAR in 2013, with extensive institutional investment management experience, to lead DAR’s investment and asset management functions.

DAR’s focus on property investment, management, and development expanded in the late 1990s. DAR now sponsors and manages over 20 properties on behalf of DAR affiliated ownership entities, with a combined market value in excess of $400 Million. DAR continues to focus on value-added and opportunistic investments. DAR investment strategies are executed through off-market acquisitions, property re-leasing and re-positioning, re-zoning and re-development, public-private partnerships, and selective ground-up developments. DAR also invests in core income properties in high-barrier to entry markets on behalf of third party clients.
